Martin Lock is the new president of Taunton Vale Rotary.  He takes over from Richard Austin.

During the handover ceremony, Richard reflected on a successful year with a wide variety of interesting activities, projects and outings.  Over two thousand pounds was sent to Rotary in Turkiye (Turkey) to support relief work in the immediate aftermath of the earthquakes.  Thirteen thousand pounds was shared between three local charities, Taunton East Development Trust, CHARIS refugees and Ups and Downs. International activities included practical support for a rural school in Kenya and hosting visiting Rotarians from Peru.

Martin, stated "I feel honoured, privileged and excited to step in to the shoes of those men and women who have preceded me in the role as President of the Club.  With the help of all of the members who give their time and skills so generously, I very much look forward to building on the great work that has been achieved by the Club over the years to help make a real difference to the lives of so many people, whether that be in our local community in and around Taunton, or further afield"

The handover took place at Taunton Opportunity Group, one of the local charities frequently supported by Taunton Vale Rotary.
