...... and a Happy New Year

Taunton Vale Rotarians send greetings and good wishes to all our friends and supporters both in Taunton and around the world.

During 2025, Rotarians from this district (Somerset, Dorset and West Wiltshire) have raised around half a million pounds to help communities here in Wessex and across the globe. More importantly, Rotarians have given thousands of hours of honorary service to charities and service projects to make life that bit better for others

In June, Taunton Vale Rotary supported nearly 200 disabled, disadvantaged or vulnerable young people with a visit to a local adventure park through the Rotary Children's Fun Day project and in the run up to Christmas over 100 were treated to a free trip to see a local Pantomime (oh yes they did!).

In September the club organised a giant ‘Tea in a Tent’ (actually a marquee) in support of Shelterbox.  Since its formation as a West Country Rotary millennium project, this global response charity has now supported over 3 million people recovering from disaster and conflict, with its roots remaining firmly in Rotary.

More recently, three thousand pounds was despatched to Thailand to help local Rotarians, aid their community with recovery from catastrophic floods.

By joining a local Rotary Club you can use your experience and skills to make things happen. You would also stand alongside approximately 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide and become part of a global network of individuals and service clubs. While each club is autonomous, setting its own targets and local agenda, Rotary International is one of the largest N.G.Os, with members in over 200 countries.  The Rotary Foundation is the largest member driven philanthropic organisation in the world.

We are People of Action - a network of neighbours, friends and leaders, young and old, male and female, who volunteer their skills and resources to solve issues and address the community needs on our street corner and around the World.
