Charity Champion Skittles

A former Taunton skittler was commemorated as Taunton Vale Rotarians competed for the David Hinton Trophy. 

David Hinton was a larger than life character, long time member of Taunton Vale Rotary Club and leader of the Club’s skittles team. Sadly, he died as a result of a brain tumour.  Since then, the club has organised an annual charity skittles evening with the proceeds being donated to the Plymouth based Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence.

The 2026 trophy, held at the Winchester Arms in Trull,  was won by Bill Tregillus (a previous champion  in 2019) with 43 pins, Andrew Janes was second with 38 pins and Garry Hurn third with 36.
