Good things come in…..shoeboxes
Taunton Vale Rotarians and Inner Wheelers have combined to brighten the Christmas for a group of disadvantaged young people in Central and Eastern Europe. The Rotary Shoe Box Scheme has been operating for 25 years and has distributed over a million boxes. 35 of the boxes from Taunton this year were for children ranging in age from 3 years to teenagers. Six were for new born babies and included beautifully knitted jackets and hats hand made by supporters.
Inner Wheel International lead Ruth Jenkins says "it is a lovely way for our two Clubs to work in partnership for a very worthwhile cause."
The pictures show the boxes and contents and one shows boxes being opened earlier this year in Moldova.
