Rotary Flower Show success
Taunton’s annual Flower Show has been hailed a success despite the gale force winds of storm Antoni which forced the early closure of the large marquees on the second day. That is in part down to Taunton Vale Rotary Club marshalling the car park on the Vale Cricket ground adjacent to Vivary Park.
Rotarian Volunteers mark out and monitor the parking areas, check the tickets as drivers approach and identify vacant parking slots. More than six hundred cars were parked over the two days with over twelve hundred Flower Show members and people with disabilities using the facility. Twenty members of the Taunton Vale Rotary Club covered the hours between 6 30am and 7pm on the two days of the show.
At the end of the show, Taunton Vale Rotarians helped with traffic control, managing the safety of visitors and exhibitors as they left through the constricted area at the back of the showground.
