Royal Recognition of Service

Taunton Vale Rotarians were amongst those recognised by the Princess of Wales at a Christmas celebration which spanned the nation.

Writing to those who give service to their communities, Her Royal Highness said: “I want to share my heartfelt thanks for all that you have done to provide comfort and hope to those who need it the most”.

The message was read by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset, Ted Allen, to more than 100 volunteers gathered in Taunton Minster.

In the message, which she delivered in person at a simultaneous event in Westminster Abbey, Princess Catherine said: “The Christmas story …. reminds us of the importance of giving and receiving empathy, as well as how much we need each other in spite of our differences.  A chance to show our love that brings joy and hope”.
