Skittles funds Brain Tumour Research

Rotarian Trevor Spurway is this year’s winner of the David Hinton Trophy, topping the scores in the 2024 individual skittles competition.

The picture above shows Trevor receiving the trophy from Keith Bigwood, following the event at the Bird in Hand Pub in Bishops Lydeard.

David Hinton was a larger than life character who for many years captained Taunton Vale Rotary Club’s skittles team.  Sadly, David died as a result of a brain tumour.  Since then, the club has organised an annual skittles evening with the proceeds being donated to the Plymouth based Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence.
