Support for victims in Turkey and Syria

More than £4,400 has been sent by Taunton’s two Rotary Clubs to assist victims of the earthquake in Turkiye (Turkey) and Syria.

Rotarians from the two clubs spent two recent Saturdays at the Taunton Deane Services, each collecting donations of around £1,000 from travellers.  

Taunton Vale Club added to our share of the collection from club funds, making a total of £2,200 so far which has been sent to Rotary District 2440: BOLGE FEDERASYONU https://rotary2440.org/haber/afet-barinak-cadirlarimiz-iskenderuna-kuruldu/ .

Rotarians from this district of Turkiye have already delivered Tents, Mobile Toilets and Water Purification equipment directly into the Earthquake Zone and are working with survivors on the ground in the worst affected areas.
