New President Welcome
Earlier starts and less emphasis on eating are among the changes on the agenda as the new Rotary year gets underway in Taunton Vale.
Speaking to the club on taking the helm as President, Kathryn Robinson Burge said: “I am a real believer in the power of Rotary. I’ve seen what can be achieved. To that end I’m not going to be dumming down our meetings or ditching tradition. But this is not just a night out with our mates! We are members of a World-Wide organization that does tremendous good in the world and we cn be proud of that”.
Handing over the badge of office, outgoing President Martin Lock said: “I remain optimistic about the difference that Rotary can, and does, make in our community. In particular, I am excited that with the ‘Join in Somerset’ event that is happening at the end of September, the Club has a new event that it has been instrumental in driving and delivering new opportunities for the community.”
